Having the boat correctly setup for the athlete is essential as otherwise, it will be difficult for the athlete to row successfully.
We suggest that you make sure that you have a range of different thickness seat pads available as this is the easiest way to correct rigging to suit individual athletes quickly. If you have time, you can rig the boat on land before you launch onto the water. However, in many cases, we do not have sufficient time and therefore having the gates rigged with removable clips for easy adjustment, and a supply of seat pads on hand will improve the experience for both coaches and athletes. In the video below we discuss these issues and how to set the boat to suit the athlete as they sit in the boat on the water before starting to row. The pdf to the right below contains the most critical aspects, and we suggest that you print this and take it with you to follow as needed. |
