Increase catch angle when rowing, decrease catch difficulty
In this video, Lachlan discusses the relationship between oar angles and rowing difficulty. He measures and tests three different foot stretcher positions for angles, total arc and boat feel.
Most rowers and coaches set their athletes up for a comfortable finish position, this is a good strategy for slower crews but not as useful when the boats become quicker, and blade placement becomes more difficult. The piece of equipment used to measure the angles is an Angle Tuner by Rowfit International which has been modified to hold a GoPro. |
