Feeling the speed of the boat

In this video, Lachlan Davey demonstrates how to get a feeling for the speed of the boat. Feeling leads to rhythm and an excellent drive to recovery ratio. A good ratio leads to a more efficient stroke and higher boat speed.

Achieving a feeling for the boat is one of the hardest and most abstract skills of rowing. Lachlan demonstrates an exercise that produces the optimal rhythm, whether it be rating 18 or 40.
